There is nothing quite like summertime in Bermuda!
We’ve got it all: beaches and boating, Cup Match and camping, cookouts and cocktails.
Sunny days and starry nights. I could go on but you get the idea…Bermuda is the hot spot for
fun in the sun all summer long. And with this bumper issue you can summer in Bermuda like a
pro as we celebrate all the best of the summer season.
First up, our much-anticipated 26th annual Best of Bermuda Awards. Back in March, our diligent judges set out to poll as many people as possible to bring you the verdict on the best food,
drink, people, places, shopping and services Bermuda has to offer, and you’ll find over 150 well-deserved winners within these pages. Here’s to our four Award of Excellence winners this year—
two local stalwarts and two newcomers to the island. No one can argue with the excellence
of People’s Pharmacy (Shopping & Services) which has consistently nabbed Best of Bermuda
awards for the last 16 years. And arguably none is more deserving than Lili Bermuda (Clothing
& Accessories), one of Bermuda’s oldest brands but now owned and run by perfumer extraordi-naire Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone. The other two winners, newbies Marcus’ (Food, Drink and
Entertainment) and America’s Cup (People & Places), may be completely different entities, but
both have created quite a buzz, setting the bar high and impressing us all. It has been a pleasure
to watch their businesses unfold and become part of the fabric of the community. Congratulations to all the 2016 winners and special thanks to our sponsor BF&M whose support makes the
Best of Bermuda Awards possible.
